Life is too short to be held hostage by others telling you what you should be afraid of. Your retirement years are but a small portion at the tail end of this life. Don’t waist a day of it. It’s kind of like dessert after dinner. Why settle for a piece of dry cake when what you really want is a delicious slice of fruit pie.
I’m retired. I left the working world behind in 2016 and I haven’t regretted it for a single day.
Any aware person can see that the world has been changing over the past couple of years. Many things seem to be up in the air right now. where they land is anyone’s guess.
Gas prices have put a damper on the traveling part of my Retirement.
My motorhome sits in its parking spot next to the house waiting for warmer weather. With gas prices and inflation climbing by the day, the ol girl may not get out of the barn as much as I would like. But that’s okay. I have a car that gets good gas mileage. Using the car gives me a great reason to do some daytripping closer to home.
Normal may never be what it used to be, but whatever it ends up looking like I’ll roll with it, I’m anxious to get back on the road.
For now, there are things to do around the house. The winter months are drawing to a close and spring is just around the corner. Getting the vegetable garden ready for planting is my first priority. Spring cleaning around the yard always keeps me busy for a few weeks. I’m also in the middle of building a patio area. Winter put it on hold for a few months. With better weather I’ll need to finish it up. Hauling in sand and placing pavers will help me burn off those extra calories I collected over the winter.
When the world finally settles down and travel becomes more of a possibility I’ll take advantage of it. Until then, I’ll make adjustments and keep a positive mental attitude.
I’m happily retired and nothing is going to change that. Inflation and politics be damned.

A Successful Retirement Lifestyle doesn’t depend on inflation, politics or any other outside variables. It depends on you and on your world view. I don’t watch television and I don’t depend on Mainstream Media to tell me what I should think or how I should feel. Neither should you. Don’t buy into the fear mongering. If you feel you need to watch the news at least try to get it from more reliable alternative sources.
Keep a healthy positive attitude.

You’re in charge of your life. Your Successful Retirement is in your hands no matter what outside forces throw in your direction. Make the most of what you’ve been given and what you can make of this life. It’s all about your attitude. If you keep it positive and continue to move forward toward those things you want out of this life you’ll be just fine.
