Philip K. Dick (1928–1982) was an American science fiction writer known for his mind-bending stories about reality, identity, and authoritarian control. His works often explored paranoia, alternate realities, and artificial intelligence, influencing generations of writers and filmmakers.

Some of his most famous works include "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?", which inspired Blade Runner, "The Man in the High Castle", an alternate history where the Axis powers won WWII, and "Ubik", a surreal exploration of time and consciousness.
